Good morning & happy Monday!

“All the resources we need are in the mind.”

– Theodore Roosevelt

I am constantly learning.  I seek to be a lifelong learner.  I read books, listen to podcasts, attend conferences, study resources, join webinars, and seek out new learning opportunities constantly.

With my long-winded memo last Monday, I thought this might be a good week to simply share some resources I found valuable over the last year or so.

  1. Hillsdale College: “Supply-side Economics and American Prosperity”

https://online.hillsdale.edu/landing/supply-side-economics

This is an 8-lesson course with each lesson being about 30 minutes.  I found the courses to be engaging and informative without being overly complex.  I would watch one lesson over a lunch break and found it to be a lot of fun.  Completely free, just sign up with the link above.  I highly recommend it.

  1. Podcast series “Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets” by Andy Stanley on his Your Move podcast channel

This was a great series that Andy put together based on his book “Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets” (which I also read and was excellent!).  Each podcast is about 30 minutes, and I would listen to these while on my 3-mile Sunday evening jog.  I don’t agree with Andy on everything, but I was encouraged & challenged by this podcast series, and I am excited to share it with you.

  1. I have shared this before, but attached to this email is the 2023 tax guide that outlines tax rates, schedules, and contribution limits.

As we begin to do year-end tax planning, I thought this might be a helpful re-share.  I use this guide virtually every day. 😊   Full disclosure: I do not provide tax advice, please consult a tax professional for your specific tax situation.

Please note that contribution limits for virtually all retirement plans have increased from 2022, so if you are set up on automatic contributions it warrants re-visiting those contribution levels to ensure you are fully funding those plans.

I heard an interesting question posed several years ago that really got me thinking.  The question was “what is your E vs. E score?”  The first ‘E’ stands for ‘Education’, the second ‘E’ stands for ‘Entertainment’.  Basically, the question was: “In our free time do we seek to educate ourselves or entertain ourselves?”  I believe the “entertainment score” would far surpass the “education score” for most people.

I hope you find these resources to be both educational and entertaining. 😊  If you check them out, let me know what you think.  I’ll keep an eye out for future resources worth sharing.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey.  At any time please do not hesitate to reach out if there are any ways my team and I can further support you.

Make it a great week ahead!
